ET Report
Jammu, June 12: This IPS officer, known more for his style in the state police circles, can very well be construed as the "Mureed" of Srinagar. In the past 20 months, he has successfully managed five transfers to remain posted in the valley with the blessings of his political masters.
He has also done his probation in Kashmir and does not want to leave it now. Whenever he is posted out of Srinagar, he comes back, using his political connections.
2009 batch IPS officer was transferred from Kargil Thursday and posted as SP (traffic, rural), Kashmir, according to police sources.
Only four months back, in the last week of January last, he was posted as district SP, Leh. He did not like Kargil or may be for some other reason, he again managed his posting back to Kashmir, sources alleged.
He has done most of his service in the valley. After he completed his initial training as SDPO in Srinagar, he was posted in the police headquarters. From there, he was posted as additional SP, Samba, but after two months, he allegedly got himself transferred to the valley. On December 10, 2013, he was posted as SP (west), Srinagar.
It may be mentioned here that during his posting at Samba, he took for leave 3-4 times to visit the valley, the sources alleged.
On October 21, 2014, he was transferred from Srinagar and posted as AIG CIV (police headquarters) as there was no other post vacant for him. From there, he was transferred in the last week of January last and posted as district SP, Kargil, but, as he did not like the place or may be for some other reason, he again managed his transfer from Kargil and got himself posted as SP (traffic, rural) Kashmir. He enjoys good relations with his seniors too.
He is also very active on social networking sites and keeps posting something on them on regular intervals. What surprises other state police officers is that how he has been managing choice postings when they don't even get one such posting despite repeated visits to police headquarters.
