Early Times Report
Kathua, Apr 6 : While campaigning for Congress candidate for Udhampur LS constituency, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the chairman Three-B Hill District Movement" Hurmat Singh highlighted the demand for separate creation of new hill districts by comprising Billawar, Bani and Basohali to carry the development and upliftment of this most remotest and far-off hilly area of the district Kathua.
He urged the Gulam Nabi Azad to play a constructive role for the creation of district so that people of the area would be given the justice.
Singh said that the movement launched for creation of separate district for this remotest far off hilly belt comprising Billawar-Bani and Basohali as "Three-B Hill District" was only motive behind seeking vote in favour Azad. The heavy populated pockets of this hilly belt are still deprived of most of the privileges of the developmental schemes. There is no proper infrastructures to provide the adequate facilities like medical, education, water and electricity, road connectivity, transport and several others basic day to day needs. The Kathua district headquarter is situated at more than 150-200 kilometers from extreme interiors of far-off areas of higher altitude tehsils like Bani, Basohali and Billawar also. But after the lapsed of 65 years of freedom of the country, no rays of development has been seen there so far and people still living in the era of primitive society.
Singh said if Azad will win as MP, we hope that the demand would be taken with the government for early solution.
