Jammu, Apr 6: A thunderstorm greeted Mufti and his supporters today during a party rally at Parade Ground Jammu but when PDP Chief Patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed came to the podium, he too thundered to shake the NC-Congress coalition.
Mufti started his short speech by attacking NC-Congress over widespread corruption and nepotism in the state for the last over five and half years. "Youth are major sufferer in this government, because this government has no policy for the future of the country", said Mufti.
Mufti said that after NDA government, ten years of UPA in the centre have not yielded any fruitful result and the same has added to the miseries of people across the country as well as the northernmost state. He said during the short rule of PDP from 2002 to 2005, number of development works were taken up especially related to Education Department. "Whether it was a demand of college for Bilawar, RS Pura, Bishnah or Akhnoor , PDP made it for people to fulfill their aspirations where NC-Congress has failed miserably", said Mufti.
Mufti said his government made it possible to get sanctioned Rs 3000 Cr ADB project for the equitable development of the three distinct regions of the state including Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. He further said that it was unfortunate that the present coalition has failed miserably to address basic needs of the commoners.
Taking a swipe at NC-Congress over lack of consensus on empowerment of Panchyat Raj system in the state, Mufti said it was complete failure of the coalition government as it has failed to reach at a consensus over the same issue for the last four years.
Mufti concluded his speech by appealing masses to vote in favour of party's parliamentary candidate Yash Pal Sharma and Arshad Malik.
