More woes for coalition in Ladakh | Islamia School, IKMT, Congress to field independent candidates | | Javaid Naikoo srinagar, Apr 6: There seems no end to the woes of the coalition partners in Ladakh. Islamia School, IKMT and local Congress wing have decided to field independent candidates. Two renowned religious schools of Kargil 'Islami School and Imam Khumaini Memorial Trust' along with a Congress wing of Kargil District headed by Chief Executive Councilor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) of Kargil district, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai according to the details received have unanimously decided to field their own independent candidate to contest forthcoming Lok Sabha elections instead of Supporting NC-Congress alliance Candidate nominated by National Conference and Congress as per their pre-poll alliance agreement. Sources close to the office bearers of Islamia School and Imam Khumaini Memorial Trust said the office bearers of the both the schools in association with Congress wing of the Kargil district after lot of deliberations in recent days have finally decided not to support NC-Congress alliance candidate namely T-Sampal of Leh district who is already nominated for whole Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir state, but instead are all set to nominate their own candidate who will be authorized to contest independently during forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. "Deliberations are on to nominate an independent candidate from Leh District, yet within few hours from now one among many names on table will be chosen for this important task," Said Haji Asgar Karbalai, supporting independent candidate in alliance with Islamia School and Imam Khumaini Memorial Trust of Kargil Sources said that keeping in view age old name and fame of both the religious schools across the Ladakh Division particularly in Kargil Distrcit,T-Sampal contesting on NC-Congress alliance ticket will have to face tough times as not only whole of Kargil District will vote in favour of the independent candidate who will be nominated by Islamia School and Imam Khumaini Memorial Trust but also office bearers of both the religious schools on their own public support to a large extent will fetch votes for their candidate from Leh District also, besides some staunch congress workers not in favour of NC-Congress pre-poll alliance of Leh District too will cost their votes in favor of independent candidate instead of T-Sampal. Sources said that decision of two religious schools to field their own independent candidate instead of Supporting NC-Congress alliance candidate came after recent war of words between Kargil and Leh National Conference and Congress members on the nomination of candidate from Ladakh division to contest forthcoming Lok Sabha elections after which nomination of T-Sampal was announced from congress High command from Delhi. Pertinent to mention that lot of drama was created recently National conference Ladakh autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) councilors announced in media that they moved a no confidence motion against the Kargil's Chief Executive Councilor, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai allegedly for his failures since he became Chief executive councilor of LAHDC of Kargil District at a time when he was among many other congress workers of Ladakh Division in Delhi to get his ticket to contest forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from the area. |
