CME on Sleep Disorders held in Kashmir

In order to update Consultants, Medical Officers, Social Activists, Psychology students especially with a focus on suffering percentage of population with sleep disorders, a Continued Medical Education (CME) with a theme 'Recognize & befriend sleep disorders' was organized by Academic Committee of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir and Consultant Doctors of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir at RIH&FW Dhobiwan-Tangmarg, Kashmir.
Dr.Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director Health Services Kashmir at the onset impressed upon all the participants to ensure that such important events are not missed in order to update their professional capabilities and learn to serve humanity with an organized and attitudinal perception. He while speaking on the occasion said sleep being natural component of life is directly or indirectly related to physical and emotional well being and sometimes minimal sleep loss takes a toll on once mood, energy, efficiency and ability to handle indifferent and complicated situations of day to day affairs, arising out of sleep disorders at times.
Dr. Saleem said that sleep disorders have been recognized world over and its solutions are within attitudinal proficiency which has to be shared by the fraternity with such sufferers whose every instance is related to services of humanity. The CME was of its first kind in which renowned professional deliberations explored organized gestures among the participants to practice for enhancement of professionalism in the interest of patient care. Importance of the said CME was that legendary expertise of the soil with their experience shared the deliberations.
The legendary personalities present on this occasion included Dr.Yousuf, Prof.& Ex HoD (Medicine), Dr. Mohammad Maqbool, Associate Professor & HoD Psychiatry, Prof. G M Malik, Ex HoD Medicine and Academic Chairman State Medical Council, Dr. Kanwaljeet, Deputy Medical Superintendent, SMHS Hospital, Prof. Parvaiz Shah, Prof & HoD Medicine, Dr. Rauf Ahmed, Prof & Head of Department, ENT, Dr. Arshad Hussain, Assistant Professor & HoU, Psychiatry, Dr. Mohammad Hayat, Endocrinology from GMC Srinagar and Dr. Abdul Majid, Assistant Professor Psychiatry, Dr. Zulfikar Ali Assistant Professor, Anesthesiology and Dr. Javaid Malik, Pulmonologist.
On this occasion, Amorist, a social scientist reflecting his views about CME said that Continuing Medical Education within the health sector was indeed dream of its professionals but opportunity of holding such CMEs have led to remarkable achievements where tertiary care services are being provided at the door steps of beneficiaries because of such unique practices in the Department of Health Services Kashmir. Amorist appreciated the marvelous and visionary legend of present leadership whose contribution of research based practices has led to such achievements today. Acknowledging versatility of professionals of Health Department and faculty of legends from GMC and JVC the social scientist said such collaborative CMEs shall definitely ease sufferings in the near future by way of capacity building of stakeholders in the future. The steps taken for such updating and capacity building togetherness of Consultants Doctors/Medical Officers proves itself the leadership qualities of Director Health Services, Kashmir.
The CME ended with a pledge of enthusiasm that learning skills of today shall serve our future in the interest of patient care to ease sufferings those take little to contribute in terms of behavioural communication that even can sooth lives and make sleepless to go ahead with sound sleep to dream healthier life style.
