Formulate comprehensive policy for regularization of DWs

Jammu, Apr 6: Stressing on the need for immediate amending SRO 64, President of the National Mazdoor Conference(NMC) Subash Shastri today urged upon the State Govt. to formulate comprehensive policy for regularization of all daily rated workers/ casual and seasonal labour engaged in various departments of the state Govt. after March 31,1994 so that confusion and uncertainty among these workers will come to end.
Addressing a largely attended NMC workers rally at Rani Park here, Shastri said that early amendment In SRO 64 is the need of the hour which is bound to have near about fifity five thousands daily rated workers working in the various departments of the State Govt. and Public sector undertakings, adding that such an amendment in SRO should be immediately effected so that new regularization policy become operational from May Day as gift to working class. Shastri hoped that the State Govt. would Sympathetically considered the demands of daily wagers and make announcement in this regards at the earliest. Shastri also demanded early release of wages of daily rated workers pending months together. Pleading the cause of State Govt. employees and pensioners, Shastri also appealed to State Govt. to release pending installment of 10% DA due from January last in favor of State Government employees and pensioners in view of Sharp increase inflation and price hike.Shastri said that State Govt. have all ready ear-marked funds for the purpose in the current year financial budget for the purpose adding that since DA is part of the salary and release of DA can not be delayed because of model code of conduct, as has been done by the Central Govt. He also suggested strict enforcement of C.P.Fund deduction scheme benefits to daily rated workers and casual laborers in the all departments to protect their service interest.
Shastri further demanded that monthly emoluments of daily wages should be raised to Rs. ten thousand per month at the National Level.
