Congress pays rich tributes to Thakur Jugal Bhandari

Kishtwar, Apr 6 : Congress party on Sunday fondly remembered and visited the residence of Late Thakur Jugal Bhandari and express their solidarity with braved family.
In a press statement issued by Secretary AICC Incharge J&K Affairs Mainul Haque (MLA), several party leaders called on Jughal Bhandari son of Thakur Randeep Bhandari and paid rich tributes to the departed leader. Paying floral tributes to the Late Jugal Bhandari, Haque described him as a dynamic leader who was always committed to the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden in the state.
He said he (Jugal Bhandari) was a tall leader who nurtured a dream of Peace, Progress in all parts of Kishtwar and one of the most respected Leaders in the congress party & followed the total dedication and devotion to the ideas of Congress party which he followed throughout his life. He said Bhandari was of the view that the power should not be kept in government offices, but should be delegated to people.
Others who spoke on the occasion were General Secretary JKPCC Farooq Andrabi, Senior Congress leaders from Kishtwar including Madan Lal Bhandari, Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Mahinder Singh Parihar and others who also described late Jughal Bhandari as a soft spoken person, beside as peacekeeper. All party leaders assured full support to Thakur Bhandari.
All the Participants highlighted the achievement of Late Bhandari who till last fought for secularism and brotherhood and same can be judged from the fact that over 20000 people from different walks of life without caste, colour, creed participated in the funeral function and pray for his eternal peace to his departed soul. "Bhandari was associated with Congress party since last over 30 years and hold many important portfolios in the party including State Secretary. He remains the District President of party during peak militancy days and during his tenure promoted party policies and peace agenda not only in eeriest while Doda District, but also throughout the country. He was known as a symbol of peace and communal harmony and plays his important role during Kishtwar communal violence that rattles the area in last over 20 year.
He also played an important role in strengthening the fabric of peace and communal harmony and played an important role in bringing the people of the two communities" Congress leaders said. He was also the serving Vice Chairman of Mata Sarthal Devi Trust.
