Jammu, Apr 7: Lawrence Public School Sidhra today celebrated "World Health Day" with zeal and enthusiasm at school premises. A special assembly was conducted on this occasion. The theme of this year of World Health Day was 'Small bite, big threat' a timely reminder that vector-borne diseases affect billions of people globally, including millions in all 37 countries and areas in our Region. The assembly started with an excellent theatrical performance by ESMR Theatre Group, "Chirago ko Roshani Duo" directed by Vijay Malla & performed by Kanta Sharma, Shallu Kumari, Qurat ul Ain, Anuroop Pathania, Rakesh Katoch, Chankaya Sharma & Vijay Malla. Students were informed that vectors such as mosquitoes, ticks, mites, fleas, sandflies and freshwater snails are organisms that transmit dangerous parasites, viruses or bacteria from one infected animal or person to another, causing serious diseases in humans. Principal, Lawrence Public School, Sidhra Shivani Joshi in her address thanked the participants for their spectacular performance and sharing their views with the students. Later students participated in slogan making & poster making competition. |
