Ajaz campaigns for Madan, seeks votes for Cong | | | Early Times Report
Kalakote, Apr 7: Minister of State for Revenue Ajaz Ahmed Khan today appealed the people to vote in in favour of Congress candidates for forth coming Lok Sabha elections for strengthening of secularism, communal harmony, brotherhood and enhancing pace of development in the state. Addressing Congress activists meeting in favour of party candidate Madan Lal Sharma at Kalakote in Rajouri District, Khan lauded the people of Rajouri-Poonch border districts for their historic role during 1947, 1965 and 1971 wars and during militancy. He said that they braved all the challenges untidily and maintained communal harmony at all costs. He said that there is urgent need for linking Rajouri and Poonch Districts with rail connectivity and creating more employment opportunities for the youth of the area in the state and central sectors. He added that every vote cast in favour of Congress candidate would be towards progress and prosperity. Senior Congress leader and former legislator Ashok Sharma while addressing the meeting, emphasized for bringing all the rural development blocks under ambit of Border Area Development Programme (BADP) for intensifying their development. He told the party activists to launch road to road campaign in favour of congress candidate and explained the programmes and policies of the party to one and all. |
