Alleged murderer of then VC- KU held after 24 years 4/7/2014 11:21:55 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, Apr 7 : Police today claimed to have arrested a murder accused involved in the killing of then Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University Prof Masheer-ul-Haq who was absconding for the last 24 years since 6/04/1990. In a significant development, Srinagar police generated a specific intelligence regarding presence of one Hilal Ahmad Sheikh s/o Ghulam Nabi of Naid Doori an accused in the murder case of then Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Prof Musheer-ul-Haq in a locality falling under jurisdiction of Police Station Zadibal. "The police team immediately conducted a raid, the statement said adding, "and arrested the above mentioned accused." "After his arrest, the accused was produced infront of Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Srinagar for further legal disposal, statement added.
