BJP deserves votes of Ex-servicemen: Brig Anil Gupta
4/7/2014 11:22:37 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 7: Expressing gratitude to the Central BJP leadership for including the issue of One Rank One Pension (OROP) in its election manifesto released today, BJP leader Brig. (Retd.) Anil Gupta said that it shows the commitment of the party to the vast ex-servicemen community spread over entire length breadth of the country, including Jammu & Kashmir.
Recalled the six year rule of BJP-led NDA, Brig. Gupta said that BJP under the leadership of Atal Behari Vajpayee had initiated historic measures for the welfare of soldiers and Ex-servicemen (ESM). The concern for the martyrs of Kargil war by Vajpayee government was seen by the entire nation. Vajpayee era was the golden period for the soldier and veterans, he said. BJP has always been concerned with the welfare of the solider. Its Prime Minister Candidate Narendra Modi during this historic ESM rally held at Rewari had assured them that BJP would implement OROP policy and address all issues concerning the armed forces. He had also promised a comprehensive National Security Policy. By including them in its election manifesto the party has once again proved its sincerity and genuine concern for the service personnel.
The Congress government on the other hand has always betrayed and played with the sentiments of the members of the Armed forces and its veterans. Be it Seventh Pay Commission or the issue of OROP, the UPA government has only let down the armed forces. The government which cannot look after the interests of its soliders does not deserve our votes.
