Sealing of 41 illegal buildings completed in Katra Drive against violators: 4/7/2014 11:48:02 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 7: District Administration Reasi has completed sealing of 41 illegal buildings in Katra town in compliance of directions issued by J&K High Court in PIL 29/2013 Titled A Citizen V/S State of J&K and others, whereas sealing of another 17 buildings is being completed by forests department, an official spokesperson said. In a statement issued here today District Magistrate (DM) Reasi Shaid Iqbal Choudhary, said, "Three different teams were constituted for sealing of these buildings constructed in violation of Master Plan, Civic Laws and Forest Laws meanwhile Tehsildar Reasi has been directed to seal such buildings which are in violation of Agrarian Reforms Act." "A team headed by Chief Executive Officer, Katra Development Authority Rajinder Singh, SDPO Katra and Executive Magistrate Gian Chand completed sealing of 13 buildings in two days long operation while second team comprised of Executive Officer Municipal Committee Ravi Sharma, Executive Magistrate Ram Lal with police assistance sealed 23 illegal buildings in Katra town; 5 buildings were sealed earlier by a joint team of Katra Development Authority and Municipal Committee, he added. "Meanwhile Forest Department also has initiated sealing process on domain-katra road for sealing 17 illegal structures constructed on forest land along the highway. The statement said further adding, "The District Magistrate (DM) has also directed the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to immediately remove all illegal structures, hoardings and buildings raised on the road acquired for construction for road. "The organisation has been directed to submit compliance report within one week, the official added. Pertinently the Division Bench (DB) of High Court had directed the Deputy Commission on April 1 to seal all these buildings and submit compliance report before next date of hearing which is to be furnished before the Court on 9th April. The DM has directed the Chief Town Planner and Chief Executive Officer KDA to furnish the map of Katra town as on 5th March 2014 to ensure that directions of High Court viz-a-viz strict measures to check violation of master plan are implemented.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
