Harassment of Advocate: BAJ to abstain from Courts on April 21-22 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 19 : Expressing concerns episode at Police Station Gandhi Nagar against Advocate Harshvardhan Gupta who was allegedly manhandled and detained for hours for none of his fault, the J&K High Court Bar Association of Jammu (BAJ) in a general house meeting in the District Court Complex under the Chairmanship of its President Senior Adv MK Bhardwaj decided to protest for two days from April 21-22. According to General Secretary of the BAJ Adv Ranjeet S Jamwal despite a demand by the J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu to initiate action against the erring police officials, no action has been initiated against them by the senior police officers till date, as such. General House resolved that action shall be initiated against the guilty with an assurance that no such acts would be repeated in future. It has also been decided that the House will assemble again for response from the police and to decide future course of action. The work in the district Court complex Janipur today remain affected due to non-appearance of the advocates. (JNF) |
