VHP condemns act, demands early arrest of all guilty | Sacrilegious act in Ramban; four arrested, others absconding | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 19: Tension gripped the remote hamlet of hilly Ramban district after a sacrilegious act was reported from the area resulting particular community to come roads to register their protest, police sources said. Meanwhile Vishaw Hindu Parishad (VHP) state unit has expressed concerns and shock over the gruesome act and demanded early arrest the persons involved in this heinous crime which has hurt the sentiments of particular community. Locals in village Karwan of Chanderkote, Ramban this afternoon staged protest against the sacrilegious act by some trouble mongers following which the entire administration including police swung into action and rushed to the spot to pacify the protestors. When contacted seniuor police officer from Ramban said that protestors dispersed after they were assured justice in this matter. He said that four persons have been taken into custody while manhunt is on to nab other erring persons. He said this was an attempt to vitiate the atmosphere by hurting the sentiments of a particular community but the district administration acted swiftly and controlled the situation from getting tense. Meanwhile Lila Karan Sharma, State President Vishaw Hindu Parishad (VHP) expressing concerns and shock over the intentional sacrilegious act reported from the Panchayat Dasal (Peerah) in Ramban District today in a media conference said, " This act by the miscreants of majority community can flare up the issue and urged the administration to take steps to arrest all the guilty to restore faith of the minority community." Asserting that the incidences of sacrilegious acts in J&K has increased multifold during the last years & the confidence of the slaughters has got boosted that they put such incidences on face book and other microblogs, he said this is because of inefficiency of the Government and connivance of some black moles who are reluctant to take action against culprits. If not checked, the particular community will be forced to come on roads. Hemraj Khajuria working President VHP, Dr Sham Lal Gupta General Secretary VHP & Rakesh Sharma were also present in the press conference. |
