Jammu, Apr 19: A delegation of Council for Civil Liberties (CCL) today called on the Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shant Mannu and apprised him of the damaged caused to houses due to heavy hailstorm. Delegation led by Chairman of CCL Inder Mohinder Tar Singh and highlighted the just demand of victim families from villages namely Sandrote, Chapper, Jhanakaha, Tarrah Saili, etc., where the natural calamities like heavy rains and hailstorm caused damage to the houses. He also submitted the photos of the highly damaged houses and the copy of the FIR registered at the concerned Police Station was tabled for the ready reference of the Shant Manu. The Divisional Commissioner gave a patient hearing and welcomed the CCL representation for the victim families whose houses were badly damaged during heavy storms and rains during July-August 2013. Tar Singh pointed out that this disaster left many homeless and these victim families adjusted themselves by sharing with other families during recent winters. When they remember the past the victim families get horrified. Their plight is beyond expectations and they have already suffered a lot. And there sufferings should come to an end. |
