Early Times Report
Jammu, July 11: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has expressed dissatisfaction on the performance of present coalition government of National Conference and Congress.
According to press release, in a meeting, Prof. Virender Gupta along with other members expressed their anguish on the fact that the corruption has reached its peak and the administration was slack, most inefficient and insensitive to the issues confronting the people of the state.
"Most of the promises made particularly by the Congress Party to the people of Jammu province have not been fulfilled. The equitable development of Jammu region vis-à-vis Kashmir Valley as promised by the present Government still remains a dream. The discrimination with the people of Jammu province continued vigorously", he said.
They further observed that the Congress party observed complete silence on the issues confronting the people of Jammu region and on the implementation of the promises that it made to them continuously before all the assembly/ parliamentary elections.
"The promise that the party shall ensure de-limitation of State legislature Constituencies and provide justice to Jammu province in enhancing its representation in the State assembly and in the parliament as per the Representation of People Act was never raised after the elections were over by the party.. Both the State as well as the Centre Government lead by the Congress Party adopted discriminatory policy against the people of this region in allocation of funds and in sanction of new projects. Also most of the time, funds allocated for the region are siphoned out for the use in the Valley. It is well known fact that Jammu region contributes about 70% in the State Revenue whereas the expenditures on its development activities is merely 30%", they observed.
They demanded completion of all ongoing developmental works in Jammu province without any further delay.
Among those who were present in the meeting were: Prof. Virender Gupta, Nathu Ram Gupta, Chandra Uday Sharma, Divender Singh Jamwal, Subash Sharma, Prof. Vijay Sharma, Rajeev Sharma, Surjeet Singh, R.C.Gupta, Rajinder Gupta and V.D.Dogra, Surjeet Singh and Rajinder Gupta.
