| ASCOMS challenges JU notification | | HC stays impugned notification | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 21 : In a petition filed by ASCOMS challenging the notification issued by University of Jammu whereby University would level 5 pc service charges which account for 5 pc of the total fee as Resource Mobilization fee from the students admitted in the non-government colleges, high court judge Tashi Rabstan issued notice to the university through its Registrar, Financial Advisor University/Principal Secretary to government, Finance Department, Director College Development Council University of Jammu and University Council.
Justice Tashi, after going through the petition, stayed the impugned notification.
In the petition, petitioner seeking quashment of Notification No. 14/June/GEN/19 dated 19.06.2014 issued by the respondent No 1 to the extent it tends to charge 5 pc of the total fee as Resource Mobilization fee from the students admitted in the non-government college, ie the petitioner's college.
