Jammu, July 21 : The Border Security Force troops opened fire when they noticed some persons moving suspiciously along the Indo-Pak border in district Kathua of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. During patrolling at the International Border in the forward Border Out Post in Kathua district namely Karole, Mathra and Bovian, the BSF patrol party noticed some suspected movement, officials said. The troops later opened small arms firing in the area, they said, adding a search operation has been launched in the area. SSP Kathua, Mohan Lal, who was moving to the border site , when contacted said that he had received an information in this regard and accordingly , a police team has been rushed to the site to assess the situation, adding that nakas and patrolling has been alerted following the information. Pertinently, the suspicious movement was brought to the notice at the time when Pakistan resorted to firing along LOC in RS Pura sector in district Jammu.Further, Kathua, faced infiltration and militant attacks twice, which have made the district vulnerable. |
