ICAR's foundation day celebrated with great fervor | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 21: To commemorate the establishment of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) at New Delhi in July, 1929, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kathua observed ICAR foundation day at village Said-Sohal which has already been adopted by the KVK under NICRA project. According to press release, on the occasion, a programme was organized in which more than 100 farmers including farm women actively participated and the farmers were conferred with recognition from ICAR as smart farmers for their praiseworthy contribution towards doing agricultural activity while coping up the adversities of aberrant weather. On the occasion the contingent plan for Monsoon, 2014 was also discussed with the farmers and they were also made aware about the climate change, adaptation and mitigation strategies. At the outset Dr Amrish Vaid Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kathua welcome the participants and appraised them about the importance of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in development of agriculture in the country. Dr. A. P. Singh SMS (Agronomy) discussed about the crop contingent plan for Mansoon 2014. Dr. Berjesh Ajrawat SMS (Extension Education) discussed about the different activities and programmes being run by the KVK for the benefit of farming community. The programmes was also attended by Meenakashi Dour SRF (NICRA Project). The programme was ended with the vote of thanks presented by Satya Parkash Sharma Member Village climate Risk Management Committee (VCMRC). |
