Dental surgeons' chain hunger strike enters 21st day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 21: The protest demonstration launched by Dental Surgeons Association of Jammu Kashmir (DSA-JK) Monday entered on 21st consecutive day while female chain hunger strike entered 9th day. According to press release, Dr. Pawan Singh asked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, "Where is his Hand-Holding of youth which is above political mileage". He condemned the policies run by his government saying that in spite of increasing the upper age limit for retirement and increasing eligibility age relaxation to apply in Govt. jobs, he would have proposed better policies to address the problems of already growing unemployment among youth in the State. Today members of various other associations assembled at Amphalla to show their support to the agitating Dental Surgeons for their Job opportunities. He said that on coming Friday, the agitating doctors along with the support of various associations will take out a massive protest rally commencing from Amphalla chowk at 10 AM, against the illfated policies of the Govt. Dr. Pawan Singh also appealed to everyone to come forward and join our protest for genuine cause on humanitarian ground. He also said that our protest will continue till our demands are met and is going to take more serious and harsh nature in the coming days and the Govt. will be responsible for any uneventful happening. The demands of the association are complete absorption of unemployed dental youth, recruitment of dental surgeons on every year basis, establish separate directorate for dental health in the state beside others. |
