| JK Minerals employee secured job by producing "fake" LLB degree, Police unmoved | | Secured LLB degree twice in 1996 and 2000, under same roll number | | Akshay Azad
JAMMU, Aug 13: An employee of JK Minerals Limited secured job allegedly by producing a fake LLB degree, but despite forwarding of a complaint against him along with all relevant documents, for registration of FIR, the Inspector General of Crime Srinagar has so far failed to do the needful.
Interestingly, the employee had secured job of Legal Assistant in JK Minerals Limited in the year 1996 on the basis of LLB Professional Degree, but he had secured degree from Jammu University twice, in the year 1996 and 2000, under same roll number, which clearly pointed out that one of the degrees was fake.
According to documents assessed through Right To Information Act, it has come to fore that Rajesh Kumar son of GC Sharma resident of H.No 254, Kali Jani, Moti Bazar Jammu, presently H.No 165, Adarsh Vihar, near Jodhamal Public School, Opposite Sainik Colony Jammu, was appointed as Legal Assistant vide order number POJ/Estt./96-1663-67 dated December, 6, 1996 in J&K Minerals Limited.
"The appointment was offered to him, in response to the application dated 22-10-1996 made by the said incumbent to the Managing Director of said Corporation. "In the said application the candidate mentioned that his result of LLB Professional is awaited, but astoundingly Rajesh Kumar in January 1997, supplied a photocopy of LLB Professional Degree bearing roll number 5590 to Management of JK Minerals Limited Jammu, declaring to the employer that he has passed LLB Professional Examination from University of Jammu", the documents in possession of Early Times revealed.
Moreover, in response to RTI application, the APIO of JK Minerals Limited disclosed vide number APIO/J/14-297-99 dated April, 26, 2014 furnished a photocopy of LLB professional Degree, issued by Jammu University on 20-12-1996.
The documents furnished by Jammu University in response to RTI application dated April, 14, 2014 appended both the degrees of Rajesh Kumar one dated 20-12-1996 and other dated 21-02-2000. "In response to genuineness of degrees the PIO of Jammu University in his reply number PIO/JU/14/11143 dated May, 7, 2014 disclosed that as per office record the result of Rajesh Kumar was reappear in the year 1996 and Rajesh Kumar had cleared LLB Professional in the year 1999 and the Degree has been issued in the year 2000 and the serial number to the said degree was 11 and code no. LLB/P/250/98/JU.
"Rajesh Kumar produced a fake/fraudulent degree to secure a job in the JK Minerals Limited. He had cheated the JK Minerals and state exchequer as he was not entitled to be appointed as Legal Assistant for want of LLB Professional Degree and further his appointment was backdoor as the post was not advertised and Rajesh Kumar was selectively appointed owing to his influence in the corridors of power, throwing law to winds", an official quoting documents said.
Moreover, on July, 1, 2009, Rajesh Kumar joined Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University as Section Officer Legal for a period of five years inclusive the period of probation. "In the application form submitted by Rajesh Kumar Sharma to SMVDU for the post of Section Officer Legal, he had himself disclosed in qualification column that the year of passing LLB Professional is 1999/2001 by securing second division from Jammu University.
The documents further revealed that Rajesh Kumar produced another degree dated 21-2-2000 before SMVDU while applying for the post of SO Legal, which had been advertised on January, 30, 2009, against which he was selected. "Before SMVDU authorities, Rajesh Kumar didn't produce the LLB Professional Degree dated 20-12-1996 on the basis of which he had secured job of Legal Assistant in JK Minerals Limited.
It was needless to mention here that Jammu University in response to RTI application confirmed that Rajesh Kumar had qualified LLB professional in the year 1999 and the said degree was issued by Jammu University in the year 2000, which clearly showed that the Degree dated 20-12-1996 was fake, which was produced by Rajesh Kumar before JK Minerals, which was evident from the first page of his service book, sources said while showing the documents.
They further said that it was also evident from personal file of Rajesh Kumar that he has produced the photocopy of Degree, declaring before JK Minerals that he had qualified LLB Professional Degree from Jammu University.
Sources further claimed that Rajesh Kumar secured job in JK Minerals by produce fake LLB degree in connivance with officials, who didn't get the same verified from Jammu University, which was condition precedent, thus Rajesh Kumar cheated State Government as well as state exchequer till 30-06-2009, when he got a new job in SMVDU, retaining his lien in the parent department for three years and presently Rajesh Kumar, despite completion of his term of five years, was continuing unauthorizedly at SMVDU and his lien stand terminated in JK Minerals which was also evident from communication of a Financial Advisor of JK Minerals to Registrar SMVDU.
Criticizing the Inspector General of Police Crime Srinagar for not registering FIR despite submission of complaint before him around one month back, a retired bureaucrat said that the case clearly showed apathy on part of IGP crime to get booked the culprit, who secured jobs on two separate locations on the strength of fake degrees. "Since he is working in SMVDU, Vice Chancellor and Governor NN Vohra should take steps to Rajesh from continuation over there", he said. |
