PDP leader visits flood-hit areas of Marh constituency | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 9: PDP Rural President and contesting candidate from Marh Assembly constituency Suram Singh Chib visited various areas of Marh segment and sought immediate assessment of the damages caused to property, residential houses and crops so that the sufferers are adequately compensated. Suram Singh led a team of party workers to help the people in distress. After visiting several areas of this constituency, he said that there is heavy loss of house, cattle and crops due to heavy rains and flood. The essential services like drinking water, electricity and road connectivity have been disrupted and the public is facing lot of hardships, he added. He expressed sympathy with those whose houses and crops have been damaged due to torrential rains and asked government to ensure correct and accurate assessment of the damage so that the affected could be compensated accordingly. While taking stock of the situation arisen there, he said that the people have suffered great damages/destruction to their properties and the crops have been badly damaged and even washed away leaving behind the barren land. He demanded a special package to the people for the damages caused to the property and also compensation to the villagers who have suffered loss to the standing crops. |
