5 teachers absorbed after ET report | | | Ajay Sharma
Jammu, Sept 9: Five teachers have been absorbed by the government after Early Times carried a story on their plight in its August 27 edition under the caption 'Enjoying Tara Chand's patronage, ZEO Sunderbani says, 'I damn care'. The teachers namely Anita Dewi, Vijay Kumar ,Vijay Sharma, Jagdish Raj and Jagjeevan Kumar were regularized by the CEO Rajouri on the direction of the Director Education H. R Pakhroo who took cognizance of ET report. Today, the ET staffer was called by the CEO Rajouri and in his presence the orders of their regularization were handed over to the ReTs. The beneficiaries later thanked the ET for putting their demands before government and helped them to redress their problems. Pertinently, the ET in its report said that the Education Volunteers (EVs) who were appointed under the centre sponsored Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme launched in the tenure of Harsh Dev Singh as Education Minister in 2002-03 were not absorbed, despite repeated appeals made to the Government. In this regard, some of the people working under such schemes in many villages rue that after the lapse of nearly 12 years, no effort has been envisaged from any quarter as they feel their career being jeopardized. As per the official norms, every EV has to be regularized after seven years of his/her services. Some of the EVs awaiting regularization as General Line Teachers (GLTs) in block Sunderbani in Rajouri district while talking to Early Times reporter said that they are being made scapegoat by the administration as the government seems to have turned nelson eye towards their regularization. Though some of them have been turned into ReTs, yet their fate to see themselves as General Line Teachers (GLTs) still eludes them. Earlier ZEO Sunderbani Shamsher Chand, was also apprised of their demands but in his clear cut message he said that he damn care of anyone for being close to the minister concerned. |
