Juthana habitants alleges Government stage protest

Kathua, Sept 9: Demanding a permanent transport communication by constructing a bridge from Gatti to Juthana, the residents of the concerning area staged a protest demonstration in Shaheed Bhagat Singh park, here today.The protestors expressing their strong resentment against the state regime said that since independence they are struggling for a bridge to the isolated villages of Panchyat. Castigating national Conference and Congress, the protesters said that despite several assurances by these parties their demand is still at large. They alleged that Dr. Farooq Abdullah promised the villagers to construct the bridge as permanent connection to communicate the rest of area of the Kathua from Gatti to Juthana if NC comes to power. "Their party formed the government with coalition of Congress and now the tenure of six years going to end but no one came there to see their hardships", the protesters miffed. Protester Balbinder Singh alleging the government said that in absence of bridge, dozens of people had lost their precious lives and during the rainy season, the Panchayat remains totally cut-off from the district. "The difficulties of thousands of people residing in the dissimilar villages could be easily understood", he miffed. Protesters Ravinder Singh alleging the flood control department and irresponsible attitude of district administration said that every year, flood in River Ujh destroy their fertile land and crops. Nevertheless, it seems that government is not having any responsibility towards them and they are closed books.
The protesters demanded government to construct a bridge over River Ujh and pay the compensation to the loss of property as soon as possible. Shiv Dev Singh, Hari Singh, Anil Kumar, Neetu Singh, Karim Malik, Aslam Din and many others were present during the protest.
