Induction Training Programme for NYC volunteers' concludes

Kathua, Sept 9: 15 days long Induction Training Programme organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Kathua for 42 National Youth Corps volunteers deployed under the Scheme of Govt. of India hailing from Jammu, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch and Kathua districts ended here at Shakti Palace Kathua.
Prasanna Ramaswami, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
In his address, he urge, upon the youth that in youthful age they should work hard to excel in the field they work and achieve the highest goal in the life. As a volunteer, they have to identify the social, economical & other problems of their blocks and prepare a plan of action to solve those problems with active involvement of the local community and they have to play role of social leaders. "The district administration would help and support in their endeavor", he assured.
District Youth Coordinator Som Dutt Zard while speaking on the occasion said Youth Volunteer were trained for successfully working in the field for the development of youth and welfare of the rural community through organising youth in forming youth clubs and Mahila Mandals and linkage these clubs with various flagship programmes of the govt. So NYC Volunteers being educated about various programmes of Govt. through resource persons of Health, Education, Agriculture, SKUAST, Horticulture, JKEDI, Banks, SBI, RSETI, Animal Husbandry, Himayat Project etc. Special Focused was on the development of self-confidence, personality development and leadership qualities, communication & managerial skills among the volunteers through brain storming sessions, group discussions, role play, report presentations, cultural, sports activities, camp management committees etc. Organizers arranged special exposure visits to know the effective functioning of Model Youth Clubs and other historical places.
He added that during these exposure tours Volunteers visited Nehru Youth Club, Lakhri, Varun Dev, Ujh Bridge, Sukrala Mata, Ranjeet Sagar Dam, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nehru Youth Club, Bakhta, Wildlife Sanctuary, Jasrota Mata, Ujh Dam, SVEEP campaign in GDC, Kathua in Employment Faire, Training Centre of RSETI etc.
On Valedictory Function Vijay Padha Director RSETI also briefed about the functioning and trades of the RSETI in Jammu & Kashmir. The NYC Volunteers shared their training experience and expressed what they gained from this training.
