Villagers of Beral village threatened by swollen streams | | | Kathua, Sept 9 : With all eyes on Valley, 356 families in Beral village in Kathua are marooned and facing the threat of being washed away as their village is situated close to flash flood prone Pini and Naz Nallahs which are Swollen and furious. While speaking to the media, Sarpanch of the Panchayat Pallan Akhtar Ali said the village Beral is situated in the middle of two dangerous Nullas Pini and Naz where 357 families are living and facing the severe threats of being washed way since long but the sudden flood fury in these Nallhas has put their lives in jeopardy. The current flash flood has eroded all kacha paths and put the village cut off from rest of the area. The people of the village are struck to their roofs to save their lives. Construction of a bridge was started in 2005 by the MLA Dr Manohar Lal Sharma but it was abandoned midway and the constructed pillars were also washed away. |
