Sheikh demands compensation for flood victims | 'Step motherly treatment given to Bhaderwah, Bhalessa residents' | | Bhaderwah, Sept 9: Senior PDP leader and contesting candidate from Bhaderwah constituency Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal has flayed the State Government for step-motherly treatment being meted out to the people of Bhaderwah, Bhalla, Charalla and Bhalessa demanded compensation to the rain and flood affected people. Talking to media persons here at Bhaderwah he said despite rain and floods, having wrought havoc, the Government has done nothing except making false promises and assurances, while the people of Bhaderwah constituency continue to be neglected on all fronts. Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal said further that no representative of the Government or elected member has paid a visit to the affected areas despite large scale destruction of roads, some houses and crops during the recent natural calamity. Urging the Governor for his immediate intervention in the matter, Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal has requested him to direct the Ministers and MLAs concerned for providing relief by way of free ration, medicine, clothing and shelter to the victims. PDP contesting candidate from Bhaderwah constituency impressed upon the Governor to make arrangements for temporary rehabilitation for the flood effected victims, and provide ration to the suffers lodged in community Hall Bhaderwah, besides, marriage party members held up at Bonjwa - Chinta - Bhala. Jai ,Provide ration and shift the habitants of sungli garh on Bani Basolhi Bhadarwah road to safer places and depute teams of Revenue -Agriculture -Horticulture-Floriculture and Animal Husbandry, sheep Husbandry departments to assess the losses caused due to flash floods on war footing level in Bhaderwah, Bhalessa, Charalla and Bhalla. Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal also urged upon GREF for immediately pressing machinery for restoration of the roads. He also appealed to depute the officials of Tourism/ Irrigation and Flood control /PWD / PHE / power Dev Department to assess the losses caused to infrastructure of all the above departments and take immediate steps for the restoration of damaged infrastructure. |
