M S Nazki POONCH, Sept 12 : The cross-border trade, which had been stopped due to the washing away of Rangar nullah bridge near Chakan da Bagh here in the recent floods, would restart from Monday next.The vehicular traffic was restored by army on the nullah yesterday, Poonch ACR Shafiq Ahmad said, adding that the administration had decided to allow the resumption of cross-border trade from September 15. The divided families on either side would also be crossing the Line of Control (LoC) on the same day. He said the team of expert engineers, which was camping in the town, today examined the damaged Sher-e-Kashmir bridge. "We have put forward to the divisional commissioner the demand for raising three pontoon bridges, one each at Dhoondak, Parmote and Poonch," he added. |
