| College Lecturer rides over nepotism in Higher Education; manages home town postings for 29 years | | 26 out of 40 Mathematics lecturers overstaying in their home towns | | Akshay Azad
JAMMU, Sept 12: Owing to their close allegiance to the corridors of power, several college lecturers have attained immunity from transfers and have managed prolonged stay in their home towns violating the transfer policy.
Either by greasing palms of Higher officials or by other means, 26 in the list of 40 lecturers of Mathematics have been overstaying in their native towns, many of them making fortunes by working as private tutors.
As per details furnished by Higher Education department in reply to RTI application, first in the list is Suman Bala Sharma, who has been staying in Jammu city for the last 29 years. "From 1985 to 1990, she was in SPMR college, followed by 12 years tenure in WC Parade and since 2003, she is serving in MAM college in utter violation of transfer policy", the reply reads.
Second in the list is Janak Singh (Incharge Principal), who has been staying in his home town for the last 15 years and has been serving in district Kathua since 1999.
Kawaljeet Kour has been staying in Jammu for the last 14 years. "She served in MAM College evening shift from 2000 to 2010, followed by her transfer to WC Gandhi Nagar and in 4/2013, she was transferred to WC Parade and is presently there", the reply said.
Anita Sharma, Neetu Singh, Sushma Babu Chib have been staying in Jammu city colleges for the last 12 years. "Anita Sharma had remained posted in WC Parade from 2002 to 2013 and from 4/2013 she has been working at WC Gandhi Nagar", the reply read; while Neetu Singh had remained posted in WC Gandhi Nagar from 2000 to 2010 and for brief tenure from 9/2012 to 2/2014 she stayed in GDC Samba and again posted at MAM College and Sushma Babu Chib has been working at MAM College since 2002.
Sumbodh Kumar has been staying in Jammu city for the last 10 years. He was posted in SPMR college from 2004 to 2010 and for one year 5/2010 to 7/2011 he was at GDC Billawar and again returned to MAM College in 7/2011.
Chander Shekhar has been staying in Jammu for the last six years and since 6/2008, he is posted in MAM College, while Raj Shree Dhar has been staying in MAM College since 1/2010, while Anju Bala has been staying in Jammu city since 1/2010.
Shakeel Ahmed Raina, whose home town is Thanamandi Rajouri and has been serving at GDC Thanamandi since 2005 while Shoba Gupta has been staying at MAM College for the last 9 years (since 2005).
Daleep Kumar Raina has been staying at GGM Science college from 1/2010, while Meeru Abrol at WC Gandhi Nagar for the last 6 years (since 6/2008).
Rajeshwar Singh Pathania has been serving in Jammu for the last 10 years at GGM Science college from 2004, while Abdul Rouf who is native of tehsil Mendhar has been serving at GDC Rajouri for the last eight years.
Anupama Gupta has been serving at Jammu for the last five years and is presently posted at WC Gandhi Nagar, while Renu Anand, who is presently posted at WC Parade has also been serving in Jammu city for the last five years, while Kanchan Kohli, presently posted at GGM Science college has been staying there since 12/2009.
Jagdish Lal, has been staying at GGM Science college since 1/2010, while Ajay Kumar at GDC Udhampur for the last 5 years, Rajesh Kumar posted at GDC Reasi for the last five years, Kailash Sharma at GDC Kathua since 12/2009, Sumit Dubey at GDC Kathua since 12/2009 and Vishali Sharma at SPMR college since 5/2010. |
