| Ensure supply of essential commodities in Poonch, Rajouri: Yash Pal Sharma | | | POONCH, Sept 12: Calling upon both State and Central governments to depute teams to assess losses in Poonch district, General Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yash Pal Sharma today demanded that essential commodities should be dispatched to the remotest and in-assessable areas of Poonch and Rajouri districts.
He also asked the authorities to restore power and road connectivity in Poonch district. He regretted that rain has stopped five day back but authorities have failed to restore power and road connectivity in Poonch district.
After visiting different areas of Poonch which were badly affected due to incessant rains and floods, Yash Pal Sharma that the inhabitants of these areas were facing acute shortage of ration, drinking water, electricity and road connectivity. Besides many people whose house have been washed away in the flood are facing accommodation problem and they are compelled to sleep under open sky.
Mr Sharma regretted that official machinery was completely collapsed and authorities were looking helpless to cope up with the present scenario. He pointed out sufferings of people were increasing with every passing day but authorities are still sleeping in deep slumber.
He asked the government immediately supply ration to the suffering people and restore water and power supply at the earliest. He also demanded tentage accommodation for those who lost their houses in the havoc rains and flood. |
