Jammu, Sept 18 : Considering the large scale devastation in the state of Jammu & Kashmir due to natural calamity, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, in exercise of powers conferred under clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 119 of the Income Tax Act, 1961 has decided to extend the last date of payment of September installment of advance tax for financial year 2014-15. The date has been extended from 15th September, 2014 to 15th December, 2014 in case of all the assesses corporate and other than corporate in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. This was informed to the media by A. K. Thatai, the Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Jammu stating that in view of various representations which he got from Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Associated Chamber of Commerce & Industries, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industries, NIRC, Jammu Chapter and other various section and cross section of traders and tax payers, this request was made to the CBDT, strongly supporting their cause and the CBDT has conisdered this by issuing an order to this effect u/s 119 (2)(a) on 18.09.2014 vide F. No. 385/08/2013-IT(B). It may not be out of place to mention here that vide an earlier order dated 16.09.2014, the CBDT has already extended the date of filing of return in the state of J&K from 30th September, 2014 to 30th November, 2014. |
