Four more bodies recovered from mudslide-hit Saddal village | | | Sarita Jamwal UDHAMPUR, Oct 1:Four more bodies were on Wednesday recovered from Saddal -Panjer village in Pancheri area of Udhampur district over three weeks after the village was buried under a mudslide. According to Police sources four dead bodies recovered today were identified as Jagti Devi wife of Shaku, Makhu Devi wife of Mohan Lal, Roshni Devi daughter of Mohan Lal and Kaku son of Mohan Lal . With the recovery of two bodies yesterday identified as Mukhtair Singh son of Suram Singh and Ashu Devi daughter of Baryam total 21 dead bodies have been recovered from mudslide . It may be recalled that 40 persons of seven families, including females and children were buried alive in the massive landslide which completely wiped out the Saddal hamlet in Panjar village of tehsil Pancheri in Udhampur district on September 7. All the bodies recovered today were handed over to the next of kin of the deceased for the last rites. The process of recovering dead body get pace only after a day before when heavy machines were pressed into service for retrieval of dead. |
