NDF provides livelihood support to 53 families in Poonch | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Oct 1:National Development Foundation (NDF) has provided livelihood support to conflict affected 53 families residing in different border villages of Poonch. According to press release, the decision was taken in meeting held here which was convened by MH Malik, DC Poonch, while Shamsheer Hussain, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Rajiv Khajuria Chief Functionary NDF and members of DCPC including Vinay Mohan Misri, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Pardeep Khanna were present in the meeting. The support was provided by NDF in partnership with Save the Children with support from ECHO during a meeting of District Child Protection Committee Poonch. 53 livelihood units including 12 Karyana shops, 20 tailoring units, 4 carpenter units, 3 tea stalls, 1 aarikash unit, 1 cafeteria, 2 poultry units, 1 stationary shop, 7 goats unit and 1 cow unit was provided to 53 families. These families have lost their source of income due to border conflict as the bread earner in these families has either got disabled or has lost his life due to border shelling and firing. DCPC members lauded the role of NDF in identifying the most vulnerable families and providing livelihood support to them as the support will enable these families for regular income and the care and protection of the children in these families will be strengthened after the support. |
