Akhter spares Hina for ‘dubious’ comments | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 15: People Democratic Party (PDP) spokesperson NaeemAkhtar on Saturday said the recently joined candidate of Bhartiya Janta Party Dr Hina Bhat's 'dubious' comments hardly matter to his party as the candidate is just new to Kashmir politics. "It will take her time to get familiar in politics. Had it been any senior political figure I would have taken cognizance to what she is saying against our party. It will be a shame for me to comment. Every new candidate speaks, let her speak also," Akhtar told Early Times. Apparently, the recently joined BJP candidate Dr Hina Bhat who is the daughter of former National Conference (NC) leader Mohammad Shafi Bhat and is contesting from Srinagar's Amira Kadal constituency accused PDP as a party of brokers and termed her step of joining BJP as 'jihad'. "There are only dacoits and incompetent people in present cabinet. But PDP is worse than NC," Hina said, adding, "There is no comparison between the BJP and PDP. Earlier people in Kashmir had only two options, but now people will vote for BJP." However on November 14, BJP Kashmir based spokesperson Khalid Jehangir had distanced itself from Dr Hina Bhat remarks that "if BJP abrogated the Article 370 she would take up the gun" and had termed such statements as "personal view" which the party has nothing to deal with. |
