Matter of survival for NC

Early Times Report
srinagar, Nov 15: As the ground situation for National Conference seems to be going against it in the present political scenario, the party according to reliable sources has struck a deal with Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). The sources say that some NC leaders approached BJP in New Delhi a couple of weeks ago and it has been decided that NC and BJP may form the next Government in J&K. But the question arises who would be the CM candidate . Will NC workers allow a BJP Chief Minister in state or will the BJP cadre in J&K, allow Omar Abdullah to be the Chief Minister whose party (NC) according to various reliable exit polls cannot get more than 10 to 13 seats in the upcoming elections. National Conference is battling for its survival just to keep PDP out of power and on the other hand PDP is also making it sure that they would must form the Government with absolute majority.
Pertinently senior PDP leader and Member Parliament from Srinagar, Tariq Hameed Karra also accused National Conference of lobbying BJP for its survival. While addressing a political rally in Charari Sharief on Friday Karra alleged that NC leaders have not only approached BJP but they have held a meeting with RSS top brass also offering them support for not only forming the next Government in J&K but also for abrogation of Article 370.
Karra while attacking National Conference further alleged that there are reports that in their secret meetings with the RSS and BJP leaders, NC emissaries have even offered support to the Saffron brigade for abrogation of Article 370. "NC has already started acting like the B-team of BJP and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah seems to be more concerned about BJP winning 44+ seats in the State, than his own party touching the double-digit figure," he said and urged the people to hand-over a decisive mandate to PDP to not only counter this unholy alliance, but safeguard the larger political and economic interests of the State as well.
Sources also say that NC and Peoples Conference leaders would be sending its cadre to Modi's proposed rally in Srinagar which is scheduled to be held very soon.
"It has been observed that since last many weeks NC is hardly attacking BJP and now the party leaders have instead started attacking its own coalition partners i.e. Congress, this indicates that something is cooking up," says Shamim Ahmad a political commentator.
