Seminar on Quality Improvement in Teacher Education held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu , Nov 15: A NAAC sponsored seminar on Quality Improvement in Teacher Education through ICT was organized by MIER College of Education (Autonomous). Prof. LokeshVerma, Former, Dean & Head Dept. of Education, University of Jammu inaugurated the seminar which was attended by educationists, researcher scholars, faculty and students from more than 30 colleges and 7 Universities of the J&K and neighbouring states. The seminar was aimed at providing a platform for stakeholders in the field of teacher education to share ideas and deliberate upon the issues related to quality improvement in teacher education through ICT usage. Eminent Educationist and Chairman MIER Group of Institutions Dr. Arun. K Gupta in his introductory remarks welcomed the chief guest, various esteemed dignitaries, keynote speakers, paper presenters & educationists from different parts of the country. Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER dwelt upon the theme of the seminar which comprised of eight sessions divided into plenary sessions and parallel technical sessions Prof. LokeshVerma, in his presidential remarks, said that in the modern world, Information and Communications Technology has made inroads into every aspect of our life and it is essential for teacher educators to prepare their trainees to accept the challenges of ICT savvy generation. He hoped that the deliberations will give the participants the necessary exposure on the usage of ICT in actual teaching situations as per NAAC's quality parameters. Mrs. AnjelaGadroo, Assistant Professor and QAO, MIER presented the formal vote of thanks in the valedictory session. She thanked the distinguished guests, keynote speaker and resource persons for taking part in today's deliberations. The progamme was ably compered by Dr. Annie Kaul, HOD B.Ed and Mrs. Komal Sharma, Asstt. Professor, MIER. |
