DB asks DC Poonch to file reply regarding 'Land mine victim' compensation | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 19 : In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking compensation for Line of Control (LoC) mine blast victims, the Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice TashiRabstan directed Union of India to file reply before the next date of hearing and also directed the Deputy Commissioner Poonch to file detailed reply regarding compensation to land mine victims. After hearing AdvDeepika Singh Rajawat for the PIL whereas AAG Ravinder Sharma for the state whereas ASGI KK Pangotra appearing for the Union of India the Division Bench directed ASGI KK Pangotra appearing on behalf of Union of India to file reply before the next date of hearing which also disclose when the last meeting dealing with the grant of ex-gratia compensation for landmine victims was held and how many persons have so far been given the benefits. The Bench also observed that though the reply was filed by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch showing ex-gratia compensation has been paid to some persons but reply filed by DC Poonch was incomplete and directed him to place on record complete information by disclosing the names of the victims and those who have been paid compensation. |
