Early Times Report

Kishtwar, Nov 19:- Ahead of first phase polling in Jammu and Kashmir on 25th of November 2014, former Bhartiya Janta Party President and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today addressed two high profile election rallies in Paddar, Kishtwar, and at Bhaderwah and raised a strong voice for achieving "Mission 44 plus" to form party's first government in Jammu and Kashmir after sweeping parliament elections, Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections. While addressing a mammoth public rally at Gulabgard, Paddar, he said that National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party and Congress are raising article 370 issue again and again only to divert the attention of common people of Jammu and Kashmir to hide their failure and misgovernance and corruption. He said that Article 370 is a national issue and is not a state subject matter to be discussed in assembly elections.
Replying to reporters' queries, , Rajnath said, "People are being terrorized here in Jammu and Kashmir on the name of Article 370 with only a single motive to divert the attention of common people from misgovernance and the ongoing elections and it should not be discussed. Rather the issues of good governance and development should be discussed."
He said as the political opponents of BJP were left with no issue, they were indulging in mudslinging.
He said that dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits to valley and issue of settlement of PoK and west Pakistani refuges were on the top agenda of the BJP. "We will not allow our own Kashmiri Pandit community to live a life of refuge anymore and will explore all possible options for their dignified settlement in Kashmir valley, beside providing them security as well," Rajnath said. He said that separatist leaders like Sajjad Lone are openly coming forward to praise the good governance mode of Narindra Modi. He said that 12 year rule of Congress, PDP and NC in Jammu and Kashmir and 10 year UPA rule in Center have given nothing to the people except for price rise and lack of development. In the last 6 months when Modi took over the reign of the country, the price of petrol, diesel and essential commodities has come down drastically. "Give us one more year. I promise the people of the country on behalf of my government that we will fully control the price rise issue" said Rajnath Singh. He also issued a stern warning to Pakistan for spreading terror in Jammu and Kashmir and its army for aggression on borders. "Our troops showed white flags to the Pak army 14 times but they did not stop firing on borders. When they cross the limit and killed our six innocent people, our government directed border troops to give befitting reply to the Pak aggression on borders," he said. While seeking the votes for his party candidate Sunil Sharma, Rajnath Singh hinted that Sunil Sharma would be a cabinet minister if BJP formed its first government in Jammu and Kashmir. He also thanked the people of Padder for voting generously in favour of BJP candidate Dr Jatindra Singh in parliament elections.
"You gave votes to Jatindra Singh and we made him a minister and now this time it is the turn of Sunil Sharma to become minister," he added. Earlier, Sunil strongly advocated the promotion of Machail Yatra and bring it on national and international tourism map. He also demanded special recruitment rally for the youths of Padder in paramilitary forces and promised jobs to local unemployed youth in local power projects as promised by the BJP government. He also assured the people of Ligri, Ongaie, Palaie and other villages that BJP will start the road projects for these areas under PMGSY. Later, Rajnath assured the people that all the issues raised by Sunil Sharma would be fulfilled on top priority. He also assured the people that their genuine issues will be looked into and added that the doors of his ministry and the government will always remains open for the people of Kishtwar district. Senior BJP leader, Brig Mohan Sharma, Capt (retd) Hukum Chand, Munish Kumar, Ram Kumar and several local BJP leaders share the stage with union home minister. On this occasion, many muslim faces from Kijae village of Padder also joined the BJP in front of Rajnath Singh.
