After 6-years, Cong finds Omar 'incapable'
'Party leaders took advantage of CM's incompetence to fill their coffers'

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 19: As the polling days are coming closer Congress leaders are openly blaming the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his party National Conference for poor governance and all other misdeeds.
The national spokesperson of the Congress party Rashid Alvi who is presently in Kashmir campaigning for the party termed Omar as "incapable" and said that he (Omar) failed in every sphere especially on development front.
An analyst while talking to Early Times alleged, "Congress ministers and leaders took full advantage of Omar's incompetence and minted money. They left no chance to grab every opportunity which came in their way. They looted the state in every possible way and filled their coffers."
Rashid Alvi, who has been campaigning in various areas of central Kashmir's Budgam district, including Beerwah, claimed that Omar has no chance of winning the seat as strong anti-incumbency wave is prevalent in the area.
He alleged that Omar never approached the Congress led UPA government to seek the revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). "Omar is raising AFSPA bogey to divert the attention of people from the real issues," Alvi claimed.
Similarly Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief Prof SaifuddinSoz while addressing a rally in north Kashmir's Bandipora district accused Omar led government of sabotaging pro-people Congress moves. He claimed that Congress wanted to serve people but NC didn't allow it to do so. "I will tell you one thing that our coalition partner did not support us. It wasted our three years for empowering panchayats. We had an agenda to serve you, but they were miser in this and felt the Congress would take the credit," Soz said. "That is why, elections to local bodies did not take place. So, we could not do what we wanted to do for you."
Congress has trained all its guns towards its coalition ally National Conference and is blaming it for whatever has gone wrong during the past six years. It seems Congress leaders have forgotten that all the plum ministries rested with their men and if they wanted they could have done a lot for the masses and they were not subservient to National Conference.
Congress leaders leveling serious allegations against Omar and his party after sharing power with it for nearly six years has proved that both the parties lacked coordination and NC-Cong coalition was an "unholy alliance," and their rule spelled doom for the people of both the regions.
Surprisingly, NC leaders are maintaining silence over the allegations being leveled by the Congress leaders and are not reacting to their statements. "NC leaders remaining silent means that they have acknowledged their failures," opined an analyst.
A political observer while talking to Early Times said that NC is not finding time to react to the allegations being leveled by the Congress as party is trying to set its own house in order. "Senior NC leaders deserting the party ahead of polls have created ripples in the NC camp. There is gloom and disappointment among the workers and leaders seem to have conceded defeat even before polls have commenced," the observer added. He ridiculed the claim of the Congress leadership that no government would be formed in Jammu and Kashmir without the support of Congress party. "They shifting blame on NC is not going to help their cause as people know it very well that Congress ministers and legislators failed to deliver," he said. "Both the parties Congress and National Conference are set to take a back seat after 2014 elections end."
