ABVP organises seminar on 'Women Empowerment' 11/19/2014 11:06:38 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 19 : Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Jammu University today organized a seminar on the topic 'Women Empowerment' on the birth anniversary of Rani Lakshmi Bai in the seminar hall of mathematics department, University of Jammu. Prof. Meenakshi Kilam was present as Chief Guest in the programme. Dr. Garima Gupta and Dr. Seema Nargotra was the guest of honour. Adv. Suhasini was present as the speaker for the event. While speaking on the occasion, Prof Meenakshi emphasized on the role of society and the women also laid stress upon the role of women in nation building while quoting the famous quote that behind every successful man there is a woman so both man and woman are equal in the society. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Garima Gupta stressed upon the need for empowerment of women in society that will ultimately lead to the empowerment of the nation. She further said that empowerment of women does not mean dis empowerment of men. So she advised men to participate equally to empower the women. Dr. Seema Nargotra laid stress on amendments and reforms in certain constitutional features to strengthen the fairer sex for better development of the society.
