Indian Army facilitates return of Indian teen on LoC | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 19: Indian army in another example of goodwill gesture took up the case of repatriation of a teen boy who while grazing live stock inadvertently crossed over to Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK) from his viilage Sariya situated along Line of Control in Rajouri district. Soon after the parents of missing teen identified as Manzar Hussain son of Gulzar Hussain brought it into the notice of police and also approached Deepati Uppal, SDM, Nowshera who acting promptly contacted local Army Commander. After getting information Army Commander took up the matter with Pakistan counterparts and sought repatriation of teen on humanitarian approach. Meanwhile Defence spokesperson today said that the teen identified namely as master Manzar Hussain, (13) a resident of Village Saria- Jhangar went missing from his house on November 14. Official spokesperson said that on getting reports that the boy inadvertently crossed over to the other side of the border, Pakistan Army was approached on humanitarian grounds and Army spoke to their counterparts and the boy was handed over late last night via Uri Check Post. "The boy has been brought from Uri and will be handed over to the family members," official spokesperson said while adding, "the teen boy at present is being moved to his village." |
