Arrangements ahead of 'Purmandal mela' reviewed | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 19: A team of office bearers of Jammu & Kashmir Dharmarth Trust led by its Secretary, Shashi Khajuria today visited Purmandal to review necessary arrangements regarding Purmandal mela which is going to start onNovember 21. According to spokesperson of trust, that a grand religious function is held for two days in which thousands of devotees from the state and other neighbouring states also participate and take a holy dip in revered Devak river to seek blessings of their deity. He said, "The Devak stream which mostly flows underground and devotees hold great faith in the river and equate it as Holy Ganga while the . Purmandal known as Chhota Kashi also hold importance as Haridwar." Spokesperson said, "The annual two day religious festivity is held here to celebrate the birthday of Mata Parvati and special prayers are held during these days in which the devotees seek the blessings of Mata Parvati the consort of Lord Shiva one the Trinity mentioned in Hindu epics. Shashi Khajuria and his team took stock of all the arrangements being made for the devotees including langer and accommodation besides other basic facilities. |
