GCW organizes symposium cum awareness under SVEEP | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Nov 20 : To ensure maximum participation of voters in the ensuing assembly elections, Government College for Women Udhampur organized symposium under SVEEP. According to press release, on the occasion, Principal of the college Prof. K.S Koushal was the chief guest. The programme started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. Nodal Officer of SVEEP Programme of the college, Prof Ashni Devi presented the welcome address while Sunanda Bakshi, college Ambassodor for SVEEP, conducted proceedings of the programme. In his presidential address Principal of the college, Prof K.S Koushal threw light on importance of exercising right to franchise in a democratic setup. He also appealed the students to disseminate the message on SVEEP awareness in the society and to motivate the masses for casting their votes in the elections as a part of fundamental duties to strengthen the democracy of our country. On this occasion Dr. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Brinder Kumar and Dr. Shalini Sharma were the members of jury. Twelve students of the college participated in the symposium and they dealt at length with SVEEP and importance of participation in electoral process. On the basis of judgment of the jury members Archana Khajuria, Parul Goswami and Radhika were adjudged first, second and third respectively. |
