VKK organizes clay modeling competition

Jammu, Dec 5: Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK) organized Clay Modeling Competition in connection with a week-long celebration of Birth Anniversary of Late Vidya Ratan Khajuria, an eminent sculptor, artist and a writer of J&K State.
Children of various schools participated in this competition. Soujanya Sharma, Secretary, Kala Kendra, Jammu was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Amrik Singh Namdhari, a well known sculptor and a student of Sh. V R Khajuria was the Guest of Honour and Jang S. Verman was the Special Guest on this occasion.
Raj Bharti, President, Viraj Kala Kendra, Jammu welcomed the guests and gave a review of the activities of the Kendra. She said that Viraj Kala Kendra is a premier organization working for the promotion of Art and Culture for last many years and engaged in multifarious Social causes and Empowerment of Women.
And the Kendra has organized various art competitions, workshops, camps and seminars for children and artists at local, state and national level. She said that Kendra started Clay Modeling Competitions which now has become a nation vide phenomenon,
Speaking on this occasion Rita Jatindra, Ex- Chair Person, Viraj Kala Kendra appreciated the contribution of Vidya Ratan has in the field of art and culture in the state and the country.
In his address Soujanya Sharma appreciated the efforts being made by the Kendra for the promotion of art and culture. He said that Kala Kendra will also conduct a Clay Modeling Competition in very near future at its premises. Prizes were given away to the winners of the competition.
About one hundred students of various schools of Jammu participated in this competition in three catagories of age groups ranging from eight plus to ten, ten plus to fourteen and fourteen plus to sixteen years of age. A large number of intellectuals and artists and writers were present during the programme.
