APSCC delegation calls on Mufti | Assures full support of Sikh community in ongoing polls | | Srinagar, Dec 5: A delegation of All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) headed by its president Jagmohan Singh Raina called on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed here today, thanking him for the measures enumerated in the PDP manifesto for the welfare of minorities. Accompanied by the heads of all the Gurdawaras in Kashmir, Raina said that it is for the first time that tangible measures have been spelled out by any political party in its manifesto for the welfare of minorities including the members of Sikh community. He assured full support of the Sikh community to PDP in the ongoing polls saying that like the first two phases of polls, the members of the Sikh community would vote en-mass for PDP. Speaking on the occasion, Mufti said PDP believes in inclusive prosperity of the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir and if the party comes to power, all the measures enumerated in the party manifesto would be implemented in a time bound manner. Mufti regretted that present National Conference-Congress regime has failed to give representation to all religious and ethnic minorities of the state and said his party would give adequate representation to all sections of the society so as to politically empower them. "In a democracy, all religious, ethnic and linguistic groups should be part of the composition of the government so that no section of the society should feel ignored and neglected", he added. |
