BJP Akhnoor candidate Rajiv Sharma launches D2D canvassing
12/5/2014 11:49:57 PM
Jammu, Dec 5 : Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate from Akhnoor Assembly segment Rajiv Sharma today toured various locations and launched door-to-door canvassing to appeal the voters for casting their votes in favour of BJP in the assembly polls. Former Minister Govind Ram Sharma, Suresh Sharma, V V Gupta, Ashok Mishra were among others who were accompanying the BJP's contesting candidate from Akhnoor Assembly constituency. He toured Sungal, Sumal, Bardhal Khurd and other localities of the constituency and addressed series of meetings there. Taking a dig at the incumbent MLA of the Congress party Sham Lal Sharma, Rajiv said that he has played with the sentiments of thousands of unemployed youth of the constituency by promising jobs during the last assembly polls and later deceived them. His resignation from the post of Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control was merely a drama and nothing else as nearing election he tried to garner the sentiments of general public of Jammu but public cannot be befooled in democracy who is clever twice than the Congress MLA.Further he alleged Sham Lal Sharma installed a stone crusher in Sumal area ignoring the interests of general public who voted for the Congress MLA in the last assembly elections. Appealing the voters for participating healthily in the democracy, Rajiv said that if public votes for BJP in state, automatically the works will be done easier as there is a majority government of BJP in the center. He concluded his speech saying-"I will work with the locals with dedication and enthusiasm so as to avail the facilities at their door steps like the BJP government worked in other states including the state of Gujrat which saw massive growth under Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi".
