NCSU stages protest against defacing JU's inauguration stone | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 5: National Conference Students' Union (NCSU) today staged protest demonstration against the mischievous elements, who had defaced the inauguration stone of varsity, laid down by first Chief Minister of state Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. More than two dozen protesters assembled outside JU gate and staged protest demonstration amid sloganeering against authorities, for their alleged failure to take action against mischievous elements. Speaking on the occasion, NCSU Vice-President University Unit Mahmood Raja said that on one hand state has been celebrating the birth anniversary of first chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, but in Jammu University, yesterday night the foundation stone of Jammu University, which was laid by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, was defaced by some mischievous elements and the varsity authorities still has become a mute spectator. Sunny Babber General Secretary JURSEA also addressing the gathering said that it was very surprising that acting Vice Chancellor RD Sharma did not give any statement regarding to defacing of foundation stone of varsity so far. "Several outsiders have made it a routine to visit campus and create nuisance. Even several outsiders are also seen sitting in the Central Library", he alleged, adding that many a times, students and scholars complained about paucity of sitting space in the library, but varsity authorities have failed to take action against outsiders. |
