JAMMU, Dec 5: Minister for Housing, Culture and Horticulture and Congress candidate Raman Bhalla today cautioned people of Jammu and Kashmir particularly Gandhi Nagar constituency against divisive politics and said development cannot be achieved by creating tensions and fissures in the society. "The people are cautioned not to fall prey to the divisive machinations of political parties. We ask how development can be achieved by creating tensions and fissures in the society", he said. "It is Congress alone which can accommodate and satiate the urges and aspirations of all sections and regions of the State", Minister stated. He said this while addressing election meeting in Digiana Park, Greater Kailash, Trikuta Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Bahu Fort, Press Morh, Karan Bagh, Ajeet Nagar and Gangyal areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency, which were attended by hundreds of Congress party workers and supporters and local populace. Without naming any party, Bhalla said that there are certain political parties which have perfected the art of speaking in different voices at different places. "They spoke in a different voice in Kashmir Valley and it is quite likely that they will change their tone once Jammu, Kathua and Samba go in for elections", he said. "No other political party can claim credit of having executed big projects in such an efficient and speedy manner in Jammu and Kashmir as has been done by Congress-led government", Bhalla stated. He stated that with commissioning of a number of major water supply schemes in the Gandhi Nagar constituency, people are getting safe and hygienic drinking water, new ration stores have been opened up and the whole constituency, today, is connected through a network of roads and lanes.
