JAMMU, Dec 8: Cardiac Disease Evaluation Camp was organised at 192 battallion of BSF, R.S. Pura in which more than 150 jawans and their families were attended during the camp. The camp was organized under the supervision of Dr. Sushil K. Sharma, Head, Department of Cardiology, Government Medical College Jammu alongwith a team of doctors which consisted of Dr. Nasir, Dr. Salma Kouser, Dr. Mohil Kalsotra and paramedics including Kashmir Singh, Lakshmi Manhas and a volunteers including Gourav, Sahil, Mohit, Suresh and Rajesh. Dr. Sushil Sharma highlighted the various risk factors which if not attended well in time can progress to deadly problems like Heart Attacks, Pump failure and sudden Cardiac Deaths. They included factors like smoking and excessive alcohol intake, hypertension, uncontrolled Diabetes, Hyperlipidaemia, obesity and stressful situations. Dr. Sharma also highlighted the need of regular check up in people of security forces so that all the risk factors can be controlled for prevention of Heart diseases. The Commandant of Battalion S.P.S Sandhu and Dr. Sanjeev expressed their heartflelt gratitude to Dr. Sushil and his team for conducting such camps for security personnel's and their families and raised hope for such kind of cooperation in the near future. |
