Hushing up of Chatta-Sunjwan land scam | DB seeks report within two weeks | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 10: In Public Interest Litigation against alleged hushing-up of Chatta-Sunjwan land scam, Division Bench today directed state to file report within two weeks. In a petition allegedly hushing up of a land scam pertaining to government land at village Chatta, Sunjwan, Jammu which was treated by the High Court as PIL, a Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan after hearing Adv SS Ahmed with Adv Suraj Singh appearing for the PIL whereas AAG Seema Shekhar appearing for the State whereas Sr. Advocate LK Sharma appearing for the private respondent observed that in pursuance of earlier orders, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu was obliged to file status report, however, the same has not been filed. Filing of status report by the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu assumes significance because earlier Divisional Commissioner Sudhanshu Pandey had appointed a committee of nine officers who had submitted its report on 21.06.2008. A copy of the said report has been placed on record in OWP No.1760/2014 ( Ram Kumar & ors. v. State & ors) and directed that report be now filed within two weeks. |
